I am an Interaction Designer for Blackbaud, Inc. The role involves researching the needs of the non-profits we work with and their clients and then designing user interfaces for to meet those needs. Core responsibilities include:
- Defining new functionality for software used by nonprofit organizations
- Working with Product Strategy/Management to understand project scope, project goals, product functionality, and desired features
- Research client needs and translate business processes into software requirements
- Design for those defined requirements
- Communicating software solution needs to programmers and other employees through appropriate design artifacts (mock-ups, Functional Requirement documents, Form & Behavior documents, etc.)
- Designing software solutions that are easy to use for a wide range of end users and help verify that the final product meets clients needs
- Collaborating with development team to scope, design, and build software that meets client needs
- Evaluating client issues and determine appropriate solutions
